Out of those meetings, reducing the volume of waste through recycling became a regional goal, and the MET was birthed. Vernon is pleased that the MET, under the leadership of Michael Patton, has flourished and made recycling a household word in the Tulsa area, and that the member governments take seriously the challenge of further reducing waste volume through recycling. He is proud to participate in that regional effort as the MET Trustee for Sand Springs.
